Make a Donation to Chicago Bronze
Chicago Bronze gratefully acknowledges those patrons of the arts that have supported us
through donations, allowing us to not only continue, but to expand our
ability to share handbell music. This includes:
| Thomas & Myrla Brand | Millie Barrett |
| Allan & Sharon Deutsch | Jean Lindner |
| Don & Sandy Slusarek | Esther Swanson |
We invite you to join in our mission
by making a donation of any amount to Chicago Bronze.
Chicago Bronze is an Illinois non-profit and 501(c)3 organization, so donations made
to Chicago Bronze are an eligible deduction for income taxes!
Donations may be
mailed to us, or if you would
prefer, can be sent right here using a credit card or PayPal account by clicking the button to the right.
Here are some of the things that we are saving up for future purchase. Any donation
would be helpful in reaching these goals.

Chicago Bronze owns 5 octaves of handbells. Plus 2!
But for the past two years, we have been borrowing some larger bass bells and chimes from the sixth octave,
larger and lower in pitch than the ones we own. These low tones give our music a depth that sounds fabulous.
In 2012, we were given a donation which enabled us to purchase G2 and F2 handbells, for which we are very grateful!
(Two fewer heavy cases to have to transport weekly between Evanston and Arlington Heights!)
Our hope is to eventually be able to purchase the following (listed in order of priority):
- C2 aluminum bell and case, $5,050
- Eb2 aluminum belland case, $4,230
- Bb2 aluminum belland case, $2,925
- A2 aluminum bell andcase, $2,925
- Ab2 aluminum belland case, $2,980
- B2 aluminum bell andcase, $2,300
- G2-B2, 5 choirchimes and 2 cases, $1,620
Chicago Bronze is grateful to these bell choirs that have allowed us to borrow equipment this year:
| Lutheran Church of the Cross, Arlington Heights |
| First Presbyterian Church of Evanston |
| St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Aurora |
Recent purchases through donations include
-
F2 and G2 aluminum handbells, each in their own case
7 large bass chimes and 5 small treble chimes to have a full 5-octave set of choirchimes.
-
A complete refurbishing of the bells, to keep them in peak condition
-
We love our new bell cases from the folks at Port-A-Bell. They protect the bells and make them easier to transport.
You can listen to creator Thomas Smith describe how he made Port-A-Bells at the Handbell Podcast.
